Comments : The Rice House is the best preserved of three experiments with the builder McDougall & Ireland's patented reinforced concrete construction system utilising a pure compression catenary arch section. The other two projects were the Wood House and Pharmacy by Robin Boyd in Jordanville [1954] and a now demolished community hall by Borland and McIntyre in Preston.
