W.A.M. Blackett 1874 - 1962

RVIA Council Member 1907-1952
Victoria's senior representative at meetings of Federal Council Australian Institutes of Architects and instrumental in the formation of RAIA in 1929. President RAIA 1930.

Commenced partnership Blackett & Forster with his cousin W. B. Forster 1899.

Awarded Inaugural Street Architecture medal for Francis House 1929
Later as partner in Gawler, Churcher and Blackett responsible for many other notable buildings throughout Victoria.
Blackett lectiured at the University of Melbourne and was in charge of Department of Architecture at University of Melbourne for a period during the first world war.
Joined the Army and served overseas.
On his return he became active in Legacy, vice president of Melbourne Legacy Club 1926 and president in 1928.
