1888 born May 10, Kladno, Bohemia [Czech Republic]
1909 Completed studies at Technical University of Prague
1910 Left Prague for Trieste, emigrated to U.S.A. where he worked for Cass Gilbert in New York City.
1914 Visited Europe, established painting studio outside Rome. returned to U.S.A. and married Noemi Pernessin.
1916 Joined Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin
1917 First independent work; remodelled Garrick Theatre in NYC. Drafted into U.S. Army.
1918 War service in Europe, officer in Intelligence Corps
1919 Travelled to Japan with FLW to help build the Imperial Hotel.
1920 Parted from Wright established 'American Architects and Engineers'
1923 Established independent office after Kanto earthquake.
1925 Visited USA, member of American Institute of Architects.
1926 Honorary Consul for Czechoslovakia.
